Steve Musser, Superintendent of the Eastern District of the EFCA

Leadership

When God first called me to serve as the superintendent of the Eastern District of the Evangelical Free Church of America, I wept — but not with tears of joy. My tears were a deep reflection of humility I felt. How could I lead 130 churches? Especially when those churches are surrounded by 38 million people, many living in the urban corridor of New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

I was overwhelmed with the reality that millions and millions of people in the Eastern District live without the hope of Christ. So I cried out to God on my knees and asked, “What are we to do?”

Not long after that prayer, God revealed a wonderful new vision for our district churches. We believe that God is calling us to new ministry initiatives that allow for creative methods to reach the masses.

Will you join us in praying for wisdom and the leading of the Holy Spirit? And will you consider how you may partner with the Eastern District EFCA Foundation to support the great ministry that lies ahead of us? On this site you will read how the FaithSTEPs Campaign is all about affecting and transforming lives. You’ll learn how you can play a vital part in Serving, Transforming, Equipping, and Praying. Together we can shine a bright light in a dark places.
